Fantastic Zoology: in Serbian narrative prose

The starting point of this book of reflections on selected Serbian storytellers is that people transform into animals and animals transform into people. The authentic literary worlds of the works mentioned in the book originate from, or are derived from, biblical visions and writings, national heritage and contemporary urbanity, as well as from the world of children and adults, from literature itself. The motif of metamorphosis and metonymy from Kafka to Orwell sufficiently inspires the search of this type in the Serbian literature of the older modern age and its fantastic patterns. A whole series of works offers the most diverse types of interpretation, points to the completeness of the poetic vision of transformation.
